How To Cook A Lobster
One of the most popular ways to eat a lobster is to eat the meat warm or cold after it has been boiled or steamed.
Method:
- If the lobster is alive, the kindest way is to place it in the freezer for about an hour to put it to sleep, or immerse it in fresh water.
- To cook it whole, or just the tail, bring a large pan of fresh, salted water to a rapid boil, then carefully place the lobster in the boiling water for 15-20 minutes. Steaming in a steamer pot takes a bit longer to cook but retains flavour and protein.
- Remove the lobster with tongs and refresh under ice-cold water to arrest the cooking process.
